I'm up to here with stuff and my head is spinning with ideas and I can't find any energy to share it all on here so please pop back in a few weeks when I may feel more up to dipping my nib in the well.

Another week gone since my last post. Shocking. Been busy though. We went to Blackpool last weekend via Wilmslow in Cheshire which was very nice in the autumn sunshine. We could live there. Did you know that more champagne is sold in Wilmslow than in any other place in the UK? We popped in to have dinner with Darren’s Mum and Dad and left with half the contents of an off-licence (which was nice). Saturday was spent in Yorkshire looking at properties in Hebden Bridge. Beautiful town but maybe a bit too twee to live there. The houses are very expensive and not that impressive but the location is dramatic and very picturesque. Darren could live there but I couldn’t. On Sunday we explored Knutsford in Cheshire on the way back to London. Very nice in an olde-worlde type of way. Lots of 4-wheel drives, leather trousered ladies with perfect make-up, Pringle jumpered men and more restaurants on a high street than I have ever seen. Property prices not bad and Manchester 10 miles away. We could live there.
As you may have gathered, I have been offered voluntary early redundancy (on compulsory terms) and have until the 20th November to accept the offer. I am 99.9% sure I shall accept. But it’s all getting a bit scary now. Leaving the comfort blanket of a regular salary after 20 years is a bit overwhelming and whenever I sit still and actually think long and hard about my future I get butterflies in my stomach and an anxious headache. I’ve always been praised on my sympathetic approach to change but I think this skill is about to be truly tested.

Blinking heck it's turned all cold so last night I had to dig out my old Old Navy bed t-shirt. What you can't see in that pic are the ladies tights I am also forced to wear because Darren won't let me put the heating on AND still insists on having the bedroom window open.
