Saturdays are made for this...

silver star 2, originally uploaded by fylde bus driver.

...flying through the trees at 80mph. This is Silver Star at Europa Park in Germany and I wish I was there today instead of going to work at 2pm. Hey ho. When Darren and I first rode Silver Star we were seated next to two elderly German gents in full lederhosen and felt hat outfits. Judging by their poor etiquette in the queue and their fumbling and stumbling while getting into the car I don't think they had been on a rollercoaster before. Their complete silence during the ride and fear filled faces at the end meant I doubt that they ever will ride one again.
P.S. Darren has just reminded me that they had really REALLY bad b.o.

Today it's grey and chilly on the Fylde but just one week ago in a further North city it was warm and sunny and I was eating chocolate cake in parks and watching the office workers sit on the freshly trimmed grass with their shoes off. What a funny little life I've been given.

Spent the day in Leith then the evening at the movies. Tarantino is counterevolutionary. 7 out of 10 for Inglorious Basterds. Followed it up with Adventureland which is a better Woody Allen film than Woody Allen has made for years. 8 out of 10.
In the Port o Leith pub. No sign of Peter from Naked Blog. Shame.

Leith Ocean terminal looking across Royal yacht Britannia 11am

Dull, flat, insipid, bald, dry, uninteresting....jejuene.
Jejuene. What does that even mean? Naturally, it's on page 27 of a Julian Fellows novel I'm reading on my bed as the strong Scottish sun pours into the room while I wait for my husband to vacate the bathroom.

Wednesday, September 16

Explored the old town, the new town, had chocolate cake every day, been to the movies to see the new Almodovar, off on a ghost walk tonight, Leith tomorrow then West End and Stockbridge on Friday. Edinburgh is braw!

The long hot summer 'they' predicted never materialised. There were a few hot sunny days though. Blackpool was choc-a-block for the weekend of the air show and for 3 days was a sunny delight.
