Look at those jeans! And those co-ordinated trainers! Marvelous. I love my Nanas string of pearls and my Mums twin-set. We showed 'em how to dress at the Hoseasons Holiday Village that year. My Mum reminded me that this was the holiday when my Dad took me on a pleasure flight on a little 10 seater plane and I was so terrified I had an asthma attack (and I didn't even have asthma!).

dave blackpool b&b 1975
Every autumn we went to Blackpool to see the illuminations. We always stayed in a guesthouse on bed, breakfast and evening meal basis. This photo was taken by a photographer who visited guesthouses at meal times and took pictures then came back the next day with the prints in key rings, in cardboard frames and in funny little boxes which you had to hold up to the light to see the photo. This pose suggests I had just acquired a new Timex and I seem to remember that the little perspex box on the table held a magnetic beetle that you could drag across a newspaper and scare nanas. It's nice to see that the haircut in this pic was to become very fashionable a year later thanks to those lovely Ramones.

Lightweights! Mum and Dad are only halfway through their breakfast and I've already finished.
